Chamoson: a haven of vineyards, gastronomy and picturesque villages
The commune of Chamoson, situated between the majestic Haut de Cry mountain range and the banks of the Rhône, covers 3,750 hectares of orchards, vineyards, mountain pastures and rocky outcrops, and comprises 6 villages and hamlets. On the banks of the Rhône are "les Iles", with their market gardens and fruit orchards.
Higher up, the village of St-Pierre-de-Clages, famous for its 11th-century Romanesque church, offers picturesque charm and is home to booksellers with a passion for books.

Chamoson is the largest wine-growing commune in the Valais, with 427 hectares of vineyards, offering wines such as Johannisberg, Fendant, Petite Arvine, Pinot Noir, Humagne Rouge, Cornalin and Syrah.
